A design studio built by a drapery maker and an upholsterer.
J&D Interiors, Inc. is a Fort Worth, Texas design studio, fabric house and furniture retailer, owned and run by the second generation of the family that started it.
J&D today
Juan A. Castro is the senior interior designer here at the studio. While managing the store's day-to-day operations, he is also involved in residential and commercial design projects, and oversees our staff of designers, sales representatives, upholsterers, seamstresses and craftsmen.
Our 40,000-foot showroom is filled with all the design elements you need for your project. We offer customization for all your design needs, including design services, furniture, draperies, window treatments, bedding, wallpaper, upholstery, quilting and custom furniture refinishing. In-store, we carry lighting, fabric, wallpaper and home accessories.
For over forty-five years our staff has been willing and able to present our clients with the best customer service. Stop by and visit our onsite workroom, or make an appointment with one of our professionals. We love what we do here, and we aim to please.
The history
"A skeleton where there was an unlimited amount with what you could do."
1960s
Deyla Guadiana and Juan A. Castro Sr. move to Fort Worth from Mexico, just after marrying. Deyla had been making draperies in her family's garage since she was fourteen; Juan Antonio Sr., deaf and mute, had learned upholstery from his uncle.
1976
The pair combine their skills and open J&D Interiors, Inc., building the company from the ground up through language barriers and very little capital.
1977
Just a year in, as business grows, Deyla buys a second location — the North Main Street building where J&D still stands today.
1985 & 1996
Space is added to the north of the building, and eleven years later to the south of the original, growing the showroom and the onsite workroom.
Today
Under Juan A. Castro Jr., J&D remains family-run — a 40,000-square-foot showroom and a staff of more than thirty-five craftsmen, designers and salespeople.
